To say 2020 was a bad year for many people would be an understatement. Lost jobs, lost lives, and the sheer joy of living, lost for many.
In October, I lost my job of nine years at Zappos.com. It was difficult to leave, but I bowed out as gracefully as I could.
December 23, 2020, I had to put my 16-year-old dog to sleep. Arthritis rendered her unable to move, and I didn’t have the heart to let her suffer any longer.
January 23, 2021, I lost my 7-year-old cat. We were tube feeding her, and she was doing well, only to die in my arms that morning. It was a shock to my already broken heart.
On January 25, 2021, I had hip replacement surgery which went well, thank God. I have graduated to more masochistic physical therapy than I would prefer.
I don’t tell you this to garner pity. I tell you this because all these things have made me a stronger person.
I am ready to launch into whatever career tickles my fancy. At Zappos, I gained a lot of various skills. I am not afraid of the future because I know I have a hand in how it will play out.
If you’re interested in speaking with me about what I can offer your company, please don’t hesitate to reach out. Sitting around with nothing to do is not my strong suit.
Cheers!
